Passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 28, 2018, at Extendicare Nursing Home in Tecumseh. He was 102 years old. Beloved husband of 70 years to Gladys M. Ellwood (nee Marion). Born August 5, 1915 in Ford City. Son of the late Amos and Celina Ellwood. Father of Joyce Draper, Don Ellwood (Ann) and Linda Reaume (Richard). Pipi to Kelly Gloude (Jay), Roy Reaume (Amy), Courtney Draper (Brent), Aaron Ellwood (Serena), Andrew Ellwood (Nicole), and Amanda Ellwood (fiancé Tyler). Great-Pipi to Tristen, Erin, Keegan, Aiden, Jake and River James. Brother of Violet Robert (Van) and Gladys Richards (John). Predeceased by William (Evelyn), Florence Minello (Hugo), Oliver (Marge). Walter (Vera), Stanley (Jean), Russell (Emilda), Norma Voros (George), Harry (Mary), Theresa Reeves (Henry), Gloria Hiscott (Robert), Pearl Ellwood, and Margaret Ellwood. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Gordon was a retiree from Ford Motor Company after 35 years. He was a Local 200 member. He built his own house and taught himself to do woodworking projects for Mom and his kids. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, and card games, especially Cribbage. We extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses, caregivers, staff and friends at Extendicare Nursing Home in Tecumseh, Oldcastle Wing, for their care and compassion shown to our dad during his stay.
