Arranged marriage to her first cousin George.
Had an affair with Philip, a Swedish Count. In 1694 he was mysteriously murdered. The royal marriage was dissolved. She was imprisoned in a castle for 30+ years, not allowed to see her children or parents. Sophia endured physical suffering till death. |
