1. Clasina Maria Jeanne. Born Utrecht 16-9-1902, pianist and music teacher. 2. Maria Wilhelmina. Born Utrecht 30-5-1906, teacher. Samuel Moolenaar 1869 – 1925 Samuel Moolenaar was a music teacher, composer, piano teacher and church organist. He was educated at the Music School of Arts as pupil to W.Oosterbaan and Dr. Johan Wagenaar and completed his exams in 1892 & 1893. His debut was in 1892 at a concert at the Collegium Musicum Ultrajectinum in Utrecht with the C dur concerto opus 15, the first piano concerto of Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1795. For this occasion the music publisher J.A.H.Waagenaar replaced the normal piano with a larger Steinway Nachfolgerpiano to enhance the presentation of the debutant. He was appointed on April 1, 1897 by the Church Council as organist of the Jacoby Church. He composed many works for piano. Of the mostly small pieces, the best known are Aquarelle Opus 2.Six small overtures, seven miniatures , opus 12. He also composed spring songs and duettes. Compositions of Samuel Moolenaar are found in the collection of the late Willem Noske presently located in the foundation Musica Neerlandia and belonging in the municipal museum in the Hague. Till his death in 1925 he resided in the Wei Street 22 in Utrecht. He died at the age of 56 and was interred in the Eerste Algemeene Cemetry in Utrecht in the presence of many mourners of the music world Samuel Moolenaar, born in Haarlem 9/8/1869, died in Utrecht 2/12/1925, son of Johannes Moolenaar and Sara Maria Vervooren, married in Utrecht 15/8/1901 to Wilhelmina van der Vlerk, born in Utrecht 5/11/1870 and died there about March 1929, daughter of Martinus van der Vlerk and Clasina Schoonhoven. Issue from this marriage: 1/ Clasina Maria Jeanne Moolenaar, born Utrecht 16/9/1902, concert pianist, music teacher, she died in Leidschendam 14/4/1995. ( She was known as Claes Moolenaar.) Already pre-second world war she performed regularly on Sunday afternoon concerts in the Kurhaus in Scheveningen and is series of public concerts performed by the Utrecht City Orchestra. She married 22/10/1948 in the Hague to Willem Lodewijk Voorendonk who was born in Hilversum 1/4/1905, tea plantation owner in Indonesia and later public servant at the Ministry of Economics. He died in Leidschendam 29/7/1991 and was the son of Wilhelmus Joannes Marie Voorendonk and Cecelia Wilhelmina Kuijpers. 2/ Maria Wilhelmina Moolenaar. Born Utrecht 30/5/1906, teacher, married Apeldoorn 16/7/1929 to Jan Piet Kloos, born Leidschendam 11/6/1905, architect, knight in the Order of Oranje-Nassau ( which is the name of the Dutch Royal Family ) , son of Louis Kloos and Wilhelmina Dixon/Dickson. |
