Personal Notes:
Obituary notice: "Mills, Edison O. (Eddie) Passed away peacefully on August 19, 2010 with his loving family by his side at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband & best friend of Marie Anne (nee Ouellette) for 46 years. Loving father of Melanie Mills & Dan Chauvin, Scott (Australia), Jason & Tera Mills. Dearest grandpa of Hannah, Phoenix & Tristan. Survived by sister Marilyn Matthew and her late husband Don (1989), brother Roger & Pat Mills of Windsor. Will also be missed by the Ouellette sisters & brothers in law and by many nieces & nephews. Ed wished to acknowledge his long lasting friendship with his old buddies over 60 years of friendship, socializing and remembering. Eddie had a passion for airplanes since early childhood and attained his commercial pilot's license. A highlight of his flying hobby was flying his own aircraft to Banff and back to Windsor on his honeymoon. He loved football and played for AKO in his younger years and enjoyed travelling on many cruises, visiting Europe and to Australia three times. Eddie was passionate about building model planes and reading was his favourite pastime; his summer months were spent with great leisure time at his cottage at Lake Erie in Colchester. It was Ed's idea to bring the Lancaster Bomber to Windsor. He retired from Chrysler Canada - Parts Division after 34 years of dedicated service and a member of CAW Local #444. Life was greatly extended over the years by many wonderful doctors. Most recently by Dr. Chetty & Fran, Dr. Irwin & Judy and Dahlia at Hotel Dieu Hospital - Pacemaker Clinic. As per Edison's request cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 on Saturday, August 21st, 2010 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A Final Farewell will be held at 8:00 PM in the chapel.
