Name origin: Celtic tribes from Powys on the English/Welsh border fled from Roman tyrant, Maximus in 384 to Brettagne (Brittany), France. Between 950 - 1066 the Dukes of Bittany aligned with the Dukes of Normandy at the battle of Hastings.
